The app checks its release feed at startup. When a newer version is found it downloads in the background and you are told:

The command palette listing Check for updates first among its commands.
The command palette listing Check for updates first among its commands.

SQL Multicast 1.4.2 is downloading in the background. Close and reopen the app to install it.

Nothing is installed under you mid-session. The update applies on the next launch.
